What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a function-based approach to help our clients be the best they can be. Using volition, what a client feels is important, we build the skills necessary to help our kids be more independent with daily tasks. Occupational therapy covers an umbrella of skills including: ADL’s (activities of daily living) to include dressing, toileting and grooming, fine motor skills, visual perceptual (how we interpret what we see) and visual motor skills (our actions/movements with what we see), bi-manual activities (using both hands together), overall coordination skills and sensory processing. Our occupational therapists take pride in helping children regain skills that may have been lost due to injury or other traumatic events, and assist with any other physical or cognitive challenges a child may be experiencing.
